Joma’s Photo Workshops is offering a one-week intensive digital photography summer and fall program for kids, teens and adults this summer/fall 2018. This five-day photography camp is designed to introduce students to the in’s and outs of their digital camera, focus on some advanced technical and lighting techniques and then immediately apply these skills in studio and portrait photography, photojournalism, documentary and fine art photography. Master manual DSLR camera settings and use light, contrast and shutter speed to create vibrant digital images through personalized lessons and in-field instruction.

In this one-week digital photography course, students are introduced to the technical workings of their camera, learn to manipulate their work in Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop, and gain a more critical eye for composition. Students put their in-class instruction into immediate practice, exploring downtown Newburgh and other area attractions through the lenses of their cameras. Over the week, students learn to think about framing, lighting and the way emotions and stories can be portrayed through a photograph. In the studio and out, students will learn how to create vibrant images they want to wow friends, family and even potential clients.

Post-processing is just as important as shooting: students will learn about the myriad of ways Adobe Lightroom can be used to process their images to perfection. The best part – the workshop will conclude with students publishing a digital portfolio hosted by Joma Studios. At the conclusion of the camp, students will be invited to attend a Haynie’s Corner First Friday event with Joleigh and the Joma team after class ends to put their new skills to work in a real-life setting where subjects include art, live music, beautiful architecture, street performers, delicious food and drink, historic buildings and more!

As an added value, students may attend any Joma workshop in the month following photo camp at half price!

Class Schedule:
